  • Customer Service and Patient Satisfaction (2 hours - 4.5 CEUs)

Patients consider customer service and responsiveness to their needs to be of serious importance in making a decision for the provision of healthcare services.  Is your organization maximizing its ability to provide excellent quality patient service?  Are patients acting as a referral source for your organization on a regular basis?  If you already have a good program, could it be better and ultimately more profitable?  LV is ready to assist you in evaluating and improving this aspect of your organization’s administration by teaching your staff to apply proven and effective customer service methods tailored for the unique nature of the practice of medicine and the provision of medical services.  Participants will receive several materials and other resources for later reference.

·         Effectively Diagnosing and Dealing with Patient Non-Compliance Issues (2 hours – 4.5 CEUs)

For patients, both surgical and non-surgical, the issue of compliance with prescribed protocols is of the utmost importance.  As any medical professional is no doubt aware, there are patients who are meticulously compliant, patients who are significantly compliant, patients who are partially compliant, and patients to whom compliance is virtually a foreign concept.  It is often extremely difficult for medical practitioners to categorize these patients based on the data and information available, especially when the patient claims to be in the one of the first two categories, but their status and level of improvement shows they are in one of the latter.  This course teaches the medical professional how to quickly, appropriately, and effectively determine the nature and causes of a patient’s non-compliance issues, as well as to develop a clinical pathway and resources for prompt resolution.  Participants will receive several materials and other resources for later reference.

Nutrition

  • Teaching Effective Nutrition Skills to Patients (2 hours - 4.5 CEUs)

Dietitians, nurses, physicians, physician assistants, and other practice professionals are all caring and well-trained individuals who put forth great effort to teach patients about better nutrition and food habits.  But the reality is, very few, if any, of these medical professionals have been taught how to teach, especially how to teach skills versus how to simply relay information.  Although medical professionals have not been taught how to be effective teachers, they are put in the position of assuming that role everyday – a position on which other people’s lives and well-being greatly depends.  Let LV teach your practice staff how to effectively teach not only nutrition skills, but virtually any other type of skill as well so that patients internalize and are able to independently apply the knowledge and skills in their personal contexts.  Participants will receive several materials and other resources for later reference.
